Nick McGlashan, a seventh generation fisherman who regularly starred on Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” has died at 33. His family has confirmed the tragic loss to “TMZ,” revealing that McGlashan died Sunday in Nashville, Tennessee.

McGlashan appeared on “Deadliest Catch” for 78 episodes between 2013 and 2020. He comes from a line of seamen and women, his uncle and aunts were crabbers, and he started crabbing himself at age 13.

While the cause of death hasn’t been determined, it’s worth noting that McGlashan struggled for years with addiction. It got bad enough that he was suspended during season 13 and ended up in rehab… and from then on he tried hard to stay sober and inspire other to get clean, too.
