Peter Billingsley may not have really shot his eye out on the set of “A Christmas Story”… but he did chew on real tobacco. The actor, who was 12 years old when he played Ralphie in the 1983 holiday favorite, has dished on the jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes story where he was given real chewing tobacco for the scene where Ralphie fantasizes about saving his family with a BB gun cowboy-style. He says he was instructed to not to swallow it, “just spit”… and about 15 minutes later, “the world starts tilting” and he started getting sick.
