When the 46th season of “Saturday Night Live” premieres this weekend, it’ll be in front of a live studio audience. But it won’t be like before.
The tickets come with a long list of health stipulations in light of COVID-19. For instance, you can only get them in groups of two, seven, eight, or nine – depending on the size of your “social bubble” – and everyone in the group has to come to the show. In addition, you’ll be required to take a mandatory COVID test and get a temperature check, and your face mask has to meet certain standards – no bandanas, no gaiters, no masks with vents will be allowed.
What’s more, all audience members will be asked a series of questions prior to admission, such as, “Are you exhibiting any symptoms related to COVID-19?” “Have you exhibited any symptoms to COVID-19 in the last 14 days?” and “Have you been in close contact with anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, or anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, within the past 14 days?”
- While it may sound stringent, the tickets for the premiere’s dress rehearsal and live show are sold out. There are, however, some tickets set aside for healthcare workers that are still available. For the record, Chris Rock is hosting, with Megan Thee Stallion doing musical duty.
