Hugh Jackman made a young fan’s day on Thursday night, surprising nine-year-old bone marrow transplant recipient Grady Smith at a virtual charity gala.
The virtual event was held in honor of DKMS, successfully raising over $3-point-five-million for the blood cancer charity. Smith met his donor at the event for the first time, and met one of his favorite actors for the first time too – Hugh Jackman, who also revealed he’s on the donor list and hopes he can help save a life one day.
“He joined in to surprise Grady and then his dog Dali popped in and was scurrying around his feet. Hugh had to apologize,” an insider at the event tells “Page Six.” “Then [he] picked Dali up and introduced the pup to everyone.”
