Madonna recently confirmed that the screenplay she’s working on with Diablo Cody is a biopic. Well, it seems she’s not about to let anybody else tell her story.
It’s now been revealed that not only is Madonna helping to write the script, but she plans to direct the movie as well. The film is being made by Universal Pictures, and is expected to cover the Material Girl’s five-decade career from the slums of New York City to global stardom.
“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer — a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” Madonna shared. “The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive.” She adds, “There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”
