Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez aren’t giving up on buying the New York Mets – and now they have some help. They’ve recruited a dream team of NFL and NBA stars to hop in on their second attempt.

The power couple is teaming up with big MLB names like Travis Kelce, Brian Urlacher, Joe Thomas, and DeMarco Murray, who have joined their investment group for a chance at the MLB franchise. As for the NBA, Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal and Denver Nuggets’ Mason Plumlee are giving them some backup.

J-Lo and A-Rod previously tried to buy the Mets for around $1-point-five-billion, but that was too low for the owners, the Wilpon family. Now, they’re back with a larger bid, according to “ESPN”… $1-point-seven-billion. So far, hedge fund billionaire Steve Cohen is the frontrunner for the team, having reportedly already made a $2-billion bid… but apparently the Wilpons are leaning more towards J-Lo and A-Rod.
