We’re used to hearing from Thomas Markle and Samantha Markle every now and then, but now another member of Meghan Markle’s estranged fan has spoken up. Her brother Thomas Markle Jr has given an interview to the “Express,” claiming that the Markles had Royal ties long before Meghan met Prince Harry.
According to Thomas Jr, the Markle family was already “closer to the Windsors than most” because they’re related to Robert The Bruce, King of Scotland from 1306 to 1329. He says he was told by Royal expert and author Andrew Morton after undergoing an “in-depth genealogy”, although it’s unclear if Meghan is aware of the connection.
“Thomas Jr also denies that Meghan was simply inspired by a school trip to London to become part of the British royal family. He says it was also Disney princesses that led her to “set her sights on” Buckingham Palace.
“All those Disney movies that revolve around being a princess and a prince and being swept off your feet,” he explains. “I mean seeing the palace and Windsor and all that, it would be incredible.”
