As you may recall, Kumail Nanjiani dropped jaws when he revealed his superhero-worthy transformation for the upcoming Marvel flick, “The Eternals.” He may be totally ripped now, but just like money can’t buy you happiness, Hollywood’s best trainers can’t make you love the skin you’re in.
In an interview with “Men’s Health,” Nanjiani reveals that he dealt with some body dysmorphia as he started seeing the fruits of his labor. Which, by the way, included a year of a strict diet that made sweets cause “12 hours of physical pain,” workouts so intense that the actor realized he’d “never really worked out” before, and electric shocks to his biceps.
“I don’t have [debilitating body issues,] but I did start getting some body dysmorphia,” he reveals. “I’d look in the mirror and I’d see my abs – and when I looked again, they would fade. I would just see the flaws.”
