Billy Idol is officially a United States citizen following a naturalization ceremony yesterday in Los Angeles.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service marked the the Rebel Yell singer’s special day by tweeting, “It’s a nice day for a naturalization ceremony. Congratulations Billy Idol.” The tweet included several photos of Idol at the ceremony, including two showing Idol holding an American flag.
The rocker met the requirements that include: “Be a permanent resident (have a ‘Green Card’) for at least 5 years; be able to read, write, and speak basic English; be a person of good moral character; and demonstrate an attachment to the principles and ideals of the U.S. Constitution.”
Meanwhile, Idol recently announced his ten-performance Las Vegas residency that is set to begin next year at the Palms Casino Resort.
