Michigan tax filers will not be receiving $180 checks under a sweeping tax proposal passed by the state Senate last Tuesday night, advancing the bills to Gov Whitmers desk without a key promose in the start of her second term. If signed, the package will provide relief to retirees by phasing out taxes on public & private pensions & would help lower-income families through significant expansions of the states EIC Tax Credit match of the federal rate.
