The Detroit Tigers were cruising to an easy victory Monday night, and then it all fell apart, as they fell to the Chicago White Sox 10-9 in 12 innings. Detroit started the game with a seven-run lead after three innings, thanks in part to a home run from Ian Kinsler and RBIs from J.D. Martinez and Jose Iglesias, and then the wheels fell off. Anibal Sanchez took the loss for Detroit, and K-Rod blew the save in the loss.

In other Tigers news, designated hitter Victor Martinez is day-to-day after an MRI Monday morning showed heavy bruising on his right knee. The Tigers feared worse after Martinez came up clutching the knee on Sunday in a win over the Yankees. V-Mart didn’t start on Monday, and is expected to be out of the starting lineup for several games.
