• Julianna Hough has opened up about living with endometriosis
  • She says that the diagnosis was “an emotional trauma”
  • It’s also affected her sex life with her husband

As an actress and two-time “Dancing With The Stars” champion, Julianne Hough admits that she has a competitor’s spirit, which means that sometimes she’s pushed through pain for work. For example, she’s been suffering from endometriosis since the age of 15, but wasn’t diagnosed for the symptoms until later. In a new interview, she’s opened up about life with the painful disorder.

It wasn’t until she was 20 years old that she finally got her diagnosis. During a live taping of “Dancing With The Stars,” she started experiencing bouts of painful cramping and was sent to the ER. Being an athlete, Hough says that learning she had endometriosis was “an emotional trauma” that caused her to feel lonely since she has “no idea” how many women struggle with the disorder.

The condition can cause chronic, long-term pelvic pain, which Hough adds has affected her sex life with her husband, professional hockey player Brooks Laich. Luckily, they’ve figured out other ways to spice up their time in the bedroom when things get too painful for her. “Sometimes we’re in the middle and I’m just like ‘AH, stop!” she reveals.
