Ken Jennings has been tapped to be an interim host of “Jeopardy.” The 74-time winner of the quiz show will be the first one to fill the role left by Alex Trebek when filming resumes on November 30th.

As we told you, the 80-year-old succumbed to pancreatic cancer earlier this month. His last appearance will be on Christmas Day. “Alex believed in the importance of ‘Jeopardy’ and always said that he wanted the show to go on after him,” executive producer Mike Richards said in a statement. “We will honor Alex’s legacy by continuing to produce the game he loved.”

Ken will be one of several interim hosts before they decide on a permanent replacement. “There will only ever be one Alex Trebek,” he said on Twitter. “I’m honored to be helping ‘Jeopardy’ out with this in January.” Look for additional hosts to be announced later.
