Yesterday, we told you that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially clued everyone in on their newly independent life. The statement on their website included comments that some are taking as “swipes” at Kate Middleton, Princess Beatrice, even the Queen – plus, of course, the British media.

But it’s no secret that the couple has beef with the British press, it’s the references to the Royal family that has Palace insiders warning “Daily Mail” that Harry and Meghan should stay humble and “grateful.” While the source admits that the statement wasn’t surprising, insiders are taking the couple’s purported disses as them having “lost all perspective” on the “sacrifices on both sides.”

What’s the big deal? For one, Harry and Meghan’s statement didn’t exactly hide their disappointment about losing the “Royal” in their “Sussex Royal” brand. Their statement noted that the Queen had “no jurisdiction” over their use of the word “Royal” overseas. Plus, there were some references to other members of the Royal family that came across a little shady, such as:

“The trademark applications that had been filed as protective measures, and that reflected the same standard trademarking requests as done for The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have been removed.” As in, Kate Middleton and Prince William.

“While there is precedent for other titled members of the Royal Family to seek employment outside of the institution, for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a 12-month review period has been put in place.” Both Princess Beatrice and Eugenie are HRHs who have jobs outside of the Royal family.
