R. Kelly has been arrested on federal sex crime charges. New York Police Department detectives and Homeland Security Investigation agents picked him up in Chicago. It’s expected that they’ll bring him back to the Big Apple where he’ll face sex trafficking charges.
To review, R has been the subject of sexual abuse allegations since 1998. In February, he was charged with aggravated sexual abuse involving four women, three of whom were minors when the alleged abuse occurred. He pleaded not guilty and was released from Chicago’s Cook County Jail after posting bail.
At this point, no one from the NYPD or Homeland Security Investigations is commenting on the arrest. And neither Kelly’s rep nor ex-wife, Drea Kelly have said anything. More details on the case will be revealed today.
