The U.S. Forest Service says it expects to award nearly $4 million in grants to help restore native vegetation in the Great Lakes region. The money will come from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. It wants projects that reduce the effects of Emerald Ash Borer attacks on trees, and uses green infrastructure to reduce runoff and improve coastal wetland filtration.
