Strong Towns Provides Recommendations for Downtown Mt Pleasant

The Strong Towns non-profit paid a visit to Mt Pleasant on Thursday. Speaking to a group in town center, Strong Towns representative Charles Marohn offered constructive advice for improvements to downtown Mt Pleasant. Among the suggestions, paid parking to help alleviate parking concerns and a location change for the Korean War Memorial in town center to make the area accessible for a farmer’s market, food trucks or street vendors. He eventually proposed using town center for buildings that would attract more people downtown.
