Students and staff in the fashion merchandising department at Central Michigan University have been working with Detroit’s Empowerment Plan to improve coats that convert into sleeping bags. The coats are designed specifically for homeless people to stay warm. CMU tests the coat’s ability to hold up to a variety of body temperatures using a high tech mannequin.
