A Clare County home went up in flames after a man tried to light his furnace. After Joseph Moore and a neighbor hit the pilot light on his furnace, they turned up the thermostat and the unit ignited in the blink of an eye. Moore and the neighbor are okay, but a cat inside the house died, and the home was a total loss.
