A group of students at Central Michigan University has been busy this week constructing fleece blankets for the homeless population in mid-Michigan. The Fleece Blanket Project through CMU’s Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center allows the students to make up to 20 blankets to donate to children in the Foster Care program. Isabella County has one of the highest homeless and poverty rates in the state at 46.5 percent.
