Motorists had to seek alternate routes around the intersection of Broomfield and Crawford roads on Thursday after a pickup truck struck a power line near the intersection. Mt Pleasant Police say they believe the driver was temporarily blinded by the sun when the incident occurred around 8:23AM. The hit caused several power failures in the area. Audible crackling and humming could be heard from the damaged power line before repairs began.
