Former CMU professor Mark Ranzenberger, who is currently housed in the Clare County Jail, will now face charges in Isabella County for four counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct.  Those charges could ultimately carry a life sentence.  Ranzenberger admitted in federal court that he had abused a child several times a week for several years.  As part of a plea deal, Ranzenberger will not be charged with those crimes in Federal Court. Ranzenberger now faces even more time along with facing 11 to 14 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.
