Both Central Michigan University and Mt Pleasant Police say they’re following a 2014 plan developed by the city to reduce tensions between student residents and full-year residents with homecoming weekend on the horizon. The plan includes the use of up to 12 police departments in the area. Mt Pleasant Public Information Officer Jeff Browne said the officers plan to work with landlords, CMU and its students to enforce ordinances on a more consistent basis.
