The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 Wednesday in a preseason game in Pittsburgh. Gustav Nyquist had a goal and two assists in the win. Jared Coreau, who was the starting goaltender for the Grand Rapids Griffins last season, made 30 saves for Detroit.
