J.D. Martinez returned to Comerica Park in style, belting a pinch hit solo home run in the eighth inning to lift the Detroit Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Martinez was activated from the disabled list earlier in the day. Michael Fulmer shut down the White Sox through 6 2/3 innings before Justin Moreau hit a solo home run for the Sox lone run of the game. The win was the 8th in a row for the Tigers. Detroit is now two games behind the Cleveland Indians for the American League Central lead.
