Two of the stronger pitchers in the Midwest League each had rough outings at Dow Diamond Monday night, but in the end the Great Lakes Loons pulled ahead for an 8-6 victory over the Clinton LumberKings. Loons starter Yadier Alvarez lasted only four innings, surrendering four runs. Matt Jones hit a 2-run home run for the Loons in the 4th, while Will Smith and Saige Junco added 2 RBI each as well.
