As of 12:59 am Wednesday, fireworks usage is once again illegal in the Mt Pleasant city limits. The ordinance states that a person “may ignite, discharge or use consumer fireworks within the city on the day preceding, the day of or the day after a holiday, but not between 1:00 am and 8:00 am. City police may issue a municipal civil infraction citation if the ordinance is violated.
