As of Friday, the Clare Police Department officially closed to the public. The closure means the department had to turn over fingerprinting and other services to the Clare County Sheriff’s Department and Isabella County Sheriff’s Department. By closing the office, the department had to lose administrative assistant John Pedjac, who held the position for many years. Chief Brian Gregory said the city commission had to close the office due to budget concerns.
