The 42nd Special Olympics Summer Games are set to descend on Mount Pleasant this weekend. Opening ceremonies for the games are set for Thursday at 6:30pm at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. 2,817 athletes will compete in this year’s games, the most since 2,838 competed 11 years ago.
