Court records indicated that state officials knew that registered sex offender Christopher McGee was living with his girlfriend and her two daughters prior to his conviction that he sexually abused her 8-year-old daughter. Officials had devised a plan to keep them safe in April, which included the caveat that the children were to never be left alone with him. The 8-year-old victim told authorities that she woke in the middle of the night on many occasions to find McGee watching her in her room, and that she also reported to a teacher multiple times that he was mean to her and her sister.
