A 33 year old Barryton man is in jail for beating a puppy to death. Joshua Voorhees was on parole for assault when he was arrested on Oct. 25 for animal cruelty. Voorhees was staying in a camper in Weidman when neighbors reported to police that he would beat the dog with his fists because it wouldn’t lie down. He remains lodged in the county jail on a $40,000 bond.
