Johnny Depp is celebrating a win in his legal battle to get back 30 million dollars in legal fees from his former lawyer.
A judge sided with the actor yesterday, and ruled that the oral contract Depp had with Jacob Bloom was invalid and did not hold up in court. The money Depp had reportedly paid to Bloom over almost 20 years was based on his earnings, and the actor sued him to get it back in October.
Bloom then counter-sued, and argued that Depp violated their agreement and still owed him money. The case will go to trial in May with some elements of Bloom’s case still in place.
Depp’s legal woes also include a lawsuit from former bodyguards over pay owed and assault allegations by the location manager of one of his films.
