In Isabella County, voters denied the $25 million bond request to make critical repairs within the Shepherd Public School District. The district was asking for a quarter million dollars for improvements throughout the district, which would have gone to safety upgrades, new classroom construction, and an expansion of extra curricular activities. The proposal would not have raised tax rates and would have maintained the current rate until 2042 but voters defeated that request with 479 yes to 670 no.
