On Aug. 4 at 2:08 a.m., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Michigan State Police were sent to a two-vehicle personal injury crash on 30th Avenue and Arthur Road in Remus, Wheatland Twp. A 47-year-old man from Florida was traveling north on 30th Avenue as a vehicle, driven by a 34-year-old woman from Howard City, was traveling east on Arthur Road, deputies said. The woman ran the stop sign and collided with the vehicle heading north. The woman was taken to Corewell Hospital in Big Rapids before being airlifted to Butterworth in Grand Rapids for life-threatening injuries. The man was checked on the scene and released.
