On Saturday night, at approximately 9:45 PM, a significant 2 vehicle accident happened at the intersection of McEwan and 5th Street in Downtown Clare. Upon impact, a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck veered off the roadway, striking 2 city light poles, a tree, and shearing an electrical pole. The force of the collision resulted in a power outage that affected the downtown area, including disabling the traffic lights at the intersection. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, and the occupants of both vehicles sustained only minor injuries.
