On Saturday at approximately 12:15pm, troopers from the Calumet Post along with deputies from the Houghton and Baraga County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to an area off of Second Sand Beach for a capsized 21-ft boat. It was reported that 5 people were on the boat at the time it sank. A person in another boat near the area responded to the scene and was able to rescue 3 of the 5 people. As of 8:30pm Friday, the boat had not been located and 2 people remained missing.
