White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby told ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” yesterday that everyone was waiting for a response from Hamas on a cease-fire agreement. When asked if Israel could refuse the deal, Kirby was clear: “It is an Israeli proposal, one that they arrived at after intense diplomacy with their own national security team.” Kirby went on to say “We have every expectation that if Hamas agrees to the proposal, as was transmitted to them, that Israel would say yes.”
