The driver of a modified Jeep told police he believed mechanical issues caused him to veer off a sand drag strip at Silver Lake State Park in what ended with a woman’s death. The May 26 crash at the park’s “drag strip” killed 33-year-old Kadie Price, a mother who also is the wife of a Kent County sheriff’s deputy. Mast said an investigation is ongoing and sheriff’s investigators have collected several different videos filmed by bystanders and are interviewing several people.
