Michigan’s tribal casinos report slight decline in gaming payments

For the second straight year, Michigan’s tribal casinos reported a slight decrease in payments to local governments. The 23 Class III tribal casinos remitted $30.3 million of winnings to local governments in 2023. That’s a drop of a little more than $420,000 from the $30.8 million paid out in 2022 and down from $31.5 million in 2021.
