A Shepherd woman who is serving time in prison for stealing from a Mt. Pleasant school’s parent teacher organization has been charged with a similar crime in Midland County. Court documents show that Krystal Lyn Carpenter, 44, was arraigned last Friday in 75th District Court in Midland on charges of embezzlement by a trustee between $20,000 and $50,000 – a 10-year felony. She faces a probable cause hearing in 75th District Judge Michael Carpenter’s Midland courtroom May 21 at 1 p.m.
