Demi Moore was presented with the Woman of the Year by the Peggy Albrecht Friendly House. She won this award because of her success in battling for recovery from her substance abuse. Moore talked about how early in her career it was finding recovery that helped her before it was too late. “I was spiraling down a path of real self-destruction and no matter what success I had I just never felt good enough,” Moore said. It was her perseverance and openness about her recovery that won her the award from the Friendly House, which is a residential program for women recovering from substance and alcohol abuse.
