With Halloween officially on the way, Disney alums Vanessa Hudgens and Jordan Fisher are set to host the upcoming special “Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash” on Freeform.
The 25th anniversary of the iconic 1993 film will be celebrated as part of Freeform’s “31 Nights Of Halloween” programming event on Saturday, October 20th at 8:15 p.m. ET. Fans will get to watch some exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, including Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as a “Hocus Pocus”-themed costume contest hosted by Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and Margaret Cho.
Thora Birch, who stars in the film as Dani, says that there’s no question why the movie is still a hit with fans today. “It’s tied to Halloween and Halloween’s never going anywhere,” she notes. “There’s a mystical element to [the film] that is enchanting. I think also, for right now, in this moment – it’s also the female empowerment!”
- ONE MORE THING! Just to give you some background on the choice of event hosts, “Hocus Pocus” director Kenny Ortega has worked with both Hudgens and Fischer before. He directed all three “High School Musical” films starring the actress as well as choreographed Disney Channel’s “Teen Beach Movie” starring Fischer.
