Clare County’s Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis ruled Wednesday in an 11-page opinion that Clare Police Chief Bryan Gregory committed no crime after checking a man’s background on the LEIN system without jurisdiction on the matter. Ambrozaitis said Gregory tried “to determine if there was anything in that information that would warrant more immediate action.” Officer Jeremy McGraw ran the LEIN check and made the complaint along with 3 other officers.
