It started out as a normal evening on duty for Texas police officer Sam Click. He was patrolling his assigned area when he saw a duplex engulfed in flames. Neighbor Shelby Hood was outside yelling for the family inside to wake up and she was able to wake up a man living in one side of the duplex, but his brother and six nephews were asleep on the other side.

Body camera footage shows Officer Click with the Seagoville Police Department decide to go inside to save the family within seconds of arriving at the fire. He’s seen waking the father and helping get the children out, with help from their uncle. The dad and all six kids, ranging in age from six months to 10, made it out without any injuries, thanks to Officer Click’s bravery and heroic actions.

“It was one of those moments when you kind of sit there — that’s something you hope you never have to do again,” Click explains. “I was just at the right place, at the right time and I just had to take action.”
