Sean Young has been accused of stealing laptops and video production software valued at $12 thousand from the set of the film “Charlie Boy” in Queens, New York, but she insists she’s innocent, and that she’s actually a victim.

The actress tells the “New York Daily News” that the accusations are just a way for two of her former colleagues to get publicity for their film. “This is a slander campaign in order to create a buzz about their film,” she tells the paper. “I have email confirmations from the owner of the building for permission to pick up my belongings, which is what I was doing.”

She insists she took the wrong laptops by mistake, noting “These fellows were notified of who to call to get back the laptops once I discovered they weren’t mine,” adding, “They didn’t respond and that may have been because they wanted to release their press statements in order to get their free publicity.”

Surveillance footage shows Sean and her son loading laptops into a waiting car and driving off, but she insists she was just taking her property after leaving the project, which she was supposed to direct. But director Timothy Hines and comedian Greg Kritikos insist she stole the two computers, and also say she was fired for drinking about 16 glasses of wine at lunch, although Sean insists she’s sober.

“It’s a shame that they couldn’t have found a more ethical way of raising attention for their film than to try and set me up,” Sean adds. “I wish them luck with their film.” So far no charges have been filed against Young. Source: New York Daily News
