The head of the IRS is warning tax payers of a new IRS scam that cheats victims out of their tax refund. Con artists work to get their hands on returns from the returns from the previous year. After a refund goes into the victims’ bank account, the con artist poses as a debt collector for the IRS by calling and claiming the refund was an error and the direct victims to a website to return the money. The IRS will never call you and don’t threaten people.
