Another day, another bullpen meltdown. The Great Lakes Loons fell 4-3 to the Peoria Chiefs on Monday in 11 innings. Starter Wes Helsabeck pitched a gem, lasting five innings with only one hit and no runs. Then Dennis Santana, one of the Loons more effective pitchers this season, entered the game and gave up three runs in three innings pitched. Brian Bass also surrendered the game-winning run in the 11th. Logan Landon led the Loons offensively with a two run home run in the 4th inning.
