The City of Mt Pleasant needs qualified candidates to fill seats on several boards and commissions. Currently, the city seeks applicants for building authority, fire and sanitary sewer board of appeals, historic district commission, planning commission and zoning board of appeals.
Commissioner Lori Gillis also suggested at a recent meeting that she would like to see more CMU students involved in the city’s government. “I think it would be great if we got more college students involved,” Gillis said. “The solutions and ideas between CMU students and Mount Pleasant residents would benefit if there were more people involved. The students are vital for this community, they are just as much of our community as the residents who live here.”
Anyone interested in a board position must be a Mt Pleasant resident and a registered voter. Find more information and applications here.
