A 42-year-old Oakland County man died Thursday when his pickup truck collided with a garbage truck in Montcalm County’s Ferris Township.
The Holly man, who police did not name pending notification of family, was driving a GMC Sierra north on Crystal Road when he entered the intersection of McBride Road at 8:04 a.m., according to troopers from the state police post in Lakeview.
His truck was hit by an eastbound Waste Management truck driven by a 31-year-old Hudsonville man, who was uninjured and refused medical treatment, police said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The crash investigation continues; Lakeview Post troopers were assisted by the state police 6th District traffic crash reconstructionist.
The Richland Township Fire Department, a Home Township officer and Montcalm County EMS assisted at the scene.
