An arrest has been made in the decades old cold case homicide of a 21-year-old St. Clair County woman. Friday around 3pm, authorities arrested 70-year-old, Douglas Laming of Ft. Gratiot Township, in connection with the murder of Karen Umphrey, 40 years ago. She was 21 at the time & was found dead in the State Game Area in Beards Hill on Nov. 2, 1980. Mr. Laming will appear for a probable cause hearing next Tuesday.
